Terms of Service

By creating an account or using EverHandled, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service.

This is an early, plain-language draft, written to reflect how EverHandled actually works today. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer — see the note at the top of this page.

EverHandled is a tool for organizing important information — accounts, investments, loans, passwords, and notes — and choosing a trusted person (a nominee) who can access it under conditions you set.

EverHandled is not legal, financial, or estate-planning advice, and it is not a substitute for a legal will or other estate-planning documents. We strongly recommend speaking with a qualified professional for those matters. Using EverHandled does not create any legal transfer of assets, rights, or authority.

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, for the accuracy of the information you store, and for choosing who you add as a nominee. We can't verify the accuracy of anything you enter, and we're not responsible for decisions made based on out-of-date or incorrect information you've stored.

Your vault passphrase is yours alone to protect — we never see it and cannot reset it for you. You're responsible for keeping it (and the device you use it on) safe. If you forget your passphrase and haven't set up a verified nominee, your vault data is permanently unrecoverable — by you or by us. This is a deliberate consequence of how EverHandled protects your data, not a service failure, and it's on you to weigh that trade-off when deciding whether to add a nominee.

When you add a nominee, you choose what parts of your vault to share with them and set a grace period (a check-in window). Here's exactly how it works:

• A nominee must verify their identity with you (via a one-time code) before they're linked to your account.
• A verified nominee can request access to your vault at any time.
• Once requested, you're notified, and you can deny the request at any time while it's still pending.
• If you don't check in (e.g. by logging in) before the grace period ends, access is automatically granted to that nominee, limited to the vault sections you chose to share with them.
• You can revoke a nominee's granted access afterward.

You are solely responsible for choosing an appropriate grace period and for deciding what to share with each nominee.

EverHandled is provided "as is" and is an early-stage service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, uptime, or that the service will be free of bugs or errors. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

EverHandled is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, EverHandled and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including damages related to loss of data, missed access, or decisions made based on information stored in or shared through EverHandled.

You agree not to use EverHandled for any unlawful purpose, or to store or share content that is illegal, fraudulent, or that infringes on someone else's rights.

You can stop using EverHandled at any time. You can immediately and permanently erase your vault, nominees, and encryption keys yourself using Reset vault (available from the unlock screen's "Account management" option) — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that does and doesn't remove. To delete your account entirely, including your login, email us.

We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these terms, including the acceptable-use section above.

We may update these terms as EverHandled changes or as we complete legal review. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of EverHandled after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of India. The specific courts and jurisdiction that would apply have not yet been finalized — that will be confirmed as part of legal review.
